Black Diamond Hotel

The “Black Diamond Hotel” project consists of the reconstruction of an old olive oil factory. This factory, located in Gjilekë, Himara, sits on a sloped terrain that offers breathtaking views of the coastline. Our studio undertook the reconstruction of both the exterior and interior. Following modern architectural lines, the openings on the façade were maximized to provide optimal natural lighting and to ensure that the rooms enjoy unobstructed views of the sea.

The hotel’s architecture is based on a clean geometric composition, divided into three horizontal volumes that follow the natural lines of the terrain, creating a harmonious relationship with the surrounding landscape. The combination of materials—white plaster, natural stone, and wooden elements—creates a soft contrast between neutral colors and natural textures, resulting in a calm and welcoming sense of elegance.

Architectural lighting plays an important role in the identity of the building, highlighting vertical volumes at the corners and creating a museum-like effect in the evening. The entire intervention reflects a minimalist approach, emphasizing the balance between functionality, aesthetics, and nature.
